Wouldn’t It Be Cool If we acted like a COMMUNITY?
During the recent wildfires in France I heard a story on NPR.
I learned there were over 200,000 evacuees, the most since WWII.
I heard about a person in the Mayor’s office of this village who stayed behind, found, and fed local pets.
I learned that 80% of firefighters in France are volunteers and regardless of the political affiliation of the community, all were aided. The firefighters were openly appreciated and acknowledged by the locals, including a woman who brought homemade crepes to thank them. Shop keepers were hugged by patrons when they returned, to their homes and with a 24/7 security system looting was kept to a minimum.
If a disaster happened where YOU live, would the community response be more like southwestern France or LA?
